I really think the sports pages are going to add a lot to the website because that's what a lot of people are looking for when they live out of town and want to know what's going on in Ishpeming, they want to know what's going on with the sports that they played and rooted for when they lived here. I also think pictures wopuld be a great idea especially if we could update it fairly regularly with current pictuires of sports and events
we could talk about other events in the school and put more pictures of ishpeming.
I think we should get the sports page up and running so we can see it. And then i think we should get local businesses like Globe printing and stuff.
Our sports section just isn't there. Old team photos that we have in the school should be put up or something along with team records.

I think we should have a page that show all of our state championships. This could also have UP and conference champs too. Also Inividual awards to from wreslting and track could be on there to.
The site really needs some more pictures. Also, the Famous People from Ishpeming section should have Kelly Johnson added to it.
I think the sports page could be expanded. like with pictures of the sports teams, along with schedules for each team. It would be nice to post results from all the games also.
i agree about putting pictures of every season on here, and adding pictures, schedules, and scores of the sports.
I think along with having Ishpeming sports radio on the site, we should have a link to up-football.com on the football part
More pictures and backround information about Ishpeming on the site would be nice to see. Not everything in Ishpeming is about sports you know.
We need to make it so that we can get to the sports page. A lot of pictures along with schedules and stuff would be nice. Also the cost to get into each game.

What are some topics that could be talked about every week on the Ishpeming-Michigan site?
Sports have been mentioned, what are other things?
We could talk about other events going on in the school. or talk about events happening in the city of Ishpeming.
What about featuring a local business or highlighting a local community member and what they do? It could be one way of finding out more about what opportunities may be available and what people in Ishpeming do (for work).
What do you think?
I like the idea of adding news to the site constantly. I have a few ideas of how we could implement that onto the site... maybe you guys have more ideas...
RSS Feeds
We have the Mining Journal RSS feed on there, but it was not auto updating. It's fixed now. The nice thing about an rss feed is that there is no work for you... it auto updates with info for you.
Blog
We could add a blog to the homepage, or we could leave the homepage how it is and add a new page called "News". You guys could take turns writing blog articles about what's going on and the latest news. An ideal blog article would be the length of a newspaper article and would ideally include at least one photo. It could be cool for example, to "cover" a sporting event and write about what happened and include some photos from the event.
Twitter
It could be cool to use Twitter for news updates. Twitter only let's you write a very short message of 140 characters. You could take turns posting Twitter updates that say what is going on and we can use an RSS feed to display all of the "tweets" on the Ishpeming-Michigan.com website. It's a quick and easy way to add short updates and using Twitter is another way that other people could find out about the Ishpeming-Michigan website.
I guess I am thinking we should do a combination... using both Twitter and a blog to add updates... for example.. a Twitter update could announce the upcoming football game and then the there could be a featured blog article on what happened at the game with some photos once it is over.

I think those ideas would work good. it would add a lot to the website.
We should have more updatable news. We could update the site every week or so to tell about sporting events and what not.
I definately think we should add a sports page like shane was talking about and the espn 970 thing sounds good too.
i agree with shane, but i also think we should have like a group or club of students that has like dailey news about ishpeming on this site and like says things about upcoming events and things like that. I think we should have like a Huge sports page, with lots and lots of pictures.
I think that we should definitely have more pictures of Ishpeming (all seasons) on the website. I think we should also have a sports tab that will bring people to a sports page where there will be pictures of all the teams at IHS, along with all the athlete's names and schedules, I also think we could have a link to ESPN 970 to listen to Ishpeming sporting events, and possibly and RSS feed from the Mining Journal to update sports, like we do headlines on the main page. The site's main page story and pictures should be changed often too so that people will want to visit the site regularly because they know there will be something new and not just the same information, because we want people to visit this site regularly.
really great ideas Shane. I especially like the idea of linking to ESPN 970 to listen to Ishpeming sports events. That's a great idea!
