02/5/10 – Mio, Oscoda County – Charlie Bouverette – Presented to State Senator Tony Stamas about the goals and mission of Community Ties. 1) Explained Community Ties to Entrepreneurship project; 2) Gave benefits to being a Community Ties member as well as benefits for local communities; and 3) Distributed promotional materials.
12/9/09 - Traverse City, Grand Traverse County - Wanda Repke - Update to a committee of the County Board of Commissioners about the Community Ties project. Challenged them to 1) become and member and create a profile; 2) share the promotional post card with another adult professional and ask them to become a member; and 3) promote the Internship Competition to businesses/nonprofits and high school/college students. Also highlighted the Zazzle online store selling Traverse City West Senior High logo items with profits going back to the school.
11/1/09 - Mio, Oscoda County – Charlie Bouverette – Presented to Oscoda County Chamber of Commerce about joining the internship competition. 1) Explained competition requirements; 2) Distributed promotional material; and 3) Asked to be a local supporter.

10/7/09 – Mio, Osocda County – Charlie Bouverette – Presented to Economic Development Alliance about Community Ties Internship Competition. 1) Explained competition rules and guidelines; 2) Provided hand-out application questions; 3) Asked to be a local supported of Community Ties to entrepreneurship Project; and 4) provided promotional materials.
8/17/09 – Mio, Oscoda County – Charlie Bouverette – Presented Community Ties ideas and objectives to the Human Service Community Collaborative. This is a meeting of several community leaders who discuss job opportunities, youth awareness, and economic stimulus. I discussed 1) preventing “bright filght;” 2) creating jobs for youth; 3) maintaining and creating interaction between youth and business professionals, and 4) using Community Ties as a conduit for all functions listed above.
8/17/09 – Mio, Oscoda County – Charlie Bouverette – Attended a Poverty Reduction of Oscoda meeting and presented the Community Ties to Entrepreneurship project. 1) Explained Community Ties objectives and goals; 2) Displayed features of the website; and 3) provided promotional material.
8/10/12/09 – Mio, Oscoda County – Charlie Bouverette - Presented to AuSable River Country and informed of recent updates on the Community Ties Project and recent Internship Competition. 1) Reinforced registration/ profile importance; 2) Supplied necessary information to enter the internship competition; and 3) Distributed promotional materials.
8/4/09 – Mio, Oscoda County – Charlie Bouverette- Presented to Michigan State University Extension Youth Mentoring Group about becoming student users on the Community Ties website. 1) Transferred website features into student benefits; 2) Displayed layout and profiles; 3) Gave incentive for creating adequate student profiles; 4) Created a student competition for parents (adult users) to Join Community Ties; and 5) Distributed promotional material.
7/13/09 – Mio, Oscoda County – Charlie Bouverette – Presented to the Oscoda County Chamber of Commerce to discuss making a profile after initial meeting with commerce president. 1) Urged Commerce members to create a profile; 2) Stressed personal and professional benefits of becoming a Community Ties Member; and 3) Supplied additional promotional materials.
7/10/09 – Mio, Oscoda County – Charlie Bouverette – Presented the Community Ties website to Chamber of Commerce President, Kendle Nichols. 1) Showed functions of the Community Ties website; 2) Explained benefits of being a community Ties member; and 3) Gave necessary information/promotional materials to supply to other commerce members.
7/10/09 – Mio, Oscoda County – Charlie Bouverette - Presented to Economic Development Alliance of Oscoda County about Community Ties project. 1) Discussed the idea of Community Ties as a benefit for community members, as well as students; 2) Explained steps to creating a profile and potential profile questions; 3) Provided promotional material.
7/2/09 – Mio, Oscoda County – Charlie Bouverette – Discussed ideas of Community Ties to Entrepreneurship to Oscoda County Council on Aging President. 1) Toured the facility; 2) Provided youth community ideas and discussed possible volunteer opportunities; and 3) Provided promotional information for seniors and posted information in the senior computer lab.
