Mentoring Coordinator Speaks Positively about the Community
"My mother and father in law live in this area and have for over 20 years. They are now 78 years old and need a little more help getting along. My wife and I wanted to be here for them because their financial situation would make it difficult for them to relocate anywhere closer to other family members.
So I was able to join AmeriCorps and serve right here in Oscoda County.. I guess you could say that I live here to serve my parents (in laws) and thanks to AmeriCorps I also get to serve the residents of Oscoda County in various capacities.
Service is important to me personally and is what I would prefer to do with my life. There are many service opportunities here."
