Hi Everyone!

Sometimes it feels like the academic groups at our school are under-represented in their accomplishments when compared to the athletic teams. So this is for those who are interested in another cool team that our school should be proud of: the Model UN team. Many people have heard of this, but they don't know what it's really all about. Students become ambassadors to the United Nations as part of their Model UN work, they research their country's policies about the assigned topics and then travel downstate to Kalamazoo for four days of intense debate on how to solve global issues the real UN is debating.

This conference is the pinnacle of what a Model UN student works for, the chance to finally share their opinion (or more accurately, their country's opinion) on some of the most pressing issues. While it sounds cumbersome, the stories and fun to be had is well worth the hard work and stress it requires to do well at the conference. The hardwork of the  TcW Model UN team has payed off over the past five years, with many team members returning with medals and honors, but also biggest award that goes to Best Prepared School.

So this goes out to all the members of the victorious TC West Model UN team that had another successful year!!  Congratulations on the one for the thumb!
